Starting anything in life is the hardest thing ever. It comes with a lot of confusion, indecision, fear that probably all you are doing will never amount to anything at all. This should however, never deter you from doing anything you want in life.
The wise saying – ‘Nothing good comes easy’ readily comes to mind. You must be willing to put in the work before you achieve success. You must be willing to face any challenges or problems without abandoning the project once you encounter any issue.
Recently, the people of my country decided to fight against lack of accountability and neglect of citizens welfare by government. We practice democracy yet the people are not the utmost concern of government. I stayed eight months at home because of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike caused by non-implementation of a 2009 agreement on matters which borders on welfare of university staff and funding of universities. Suffering is at its peak and people are barely hanging in there, youths are unemployed and there is no enabling environment for business or talent to thrive, insecurity on another level, and people are scared for their life. Prices of food are way high that many can barely afford it. The wealthy trample upon the poor who are left with muffled voices against injustice.
Nigeria has indeed happened to many of us and that is the reason we hunger for change, for accountability by government, to remind them that power lies with the people and they are there to represent our interest and not theirs.
It is however, an undeniable truth, that the people who are benefitting from this corrupt system would surely put up a fight. Did you think your opponents would let you take food from their mouth without fighting to resist it?
To achieve what you want in life, you must be resilient, otherwise you are simply wasting your time. Difficulties will come, problems ready to pull you down but you must stand firm and unwavering because to effect any change in life is a process, one you must be willing and ready to work for.
Fight always for what you believe in and don’t ever abandon what you most believe in whenever you encounter any problem.
Nigeria will be great again and I will be part of that victory.
I believe it so much!
Exactly what every Nigerians need to hear this time. Resilience, the key words. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
