A Healthy Relationship with Yourself Will Indicate These Three Things
Acceptance: this means you love and appreciate yourself. You recognize your flaws and the imperfections in you whether physically or otherwise but they do not in any way make you feel less deserving or less important. You don’t deny their existence nor make excuses for your inadequacies but instead, you acknowledge them and strive to improve on them.
Improvement: this is another good sign of healthy relationship with yourself. There must be conscious efforts on your part to improve on your flaws. You do not only see them and hope people understand and adjust to them; you recognize that it’s important you improve on them because that’s what makes you a high-value person – a person who wants to be better for herself, for her loved ones and for others.
You make better choices for yourself: when you have really understood yourself, you tend to appreciate your values, standards and how important it is to have people around you who share similar values as you. You make choices that reflect what you want and what’s good for you. You know yourself, you are confident in yourself and you are not easily influenced or moved by what others think of you or your decisions. You just will have a great outlook on life.
