We frequently fail to use the abilities we find within ourselves. This is certainly as a result of factors that have consistently held us back from actualizing our true potential.
The first factor is cancelling yourself before you get started. You always wonder if you have what it takes to succeed, especially as you have seen pros who have cemented their stay in that field of your choice. After realizing their skill, you start comparing. This discourages you from resuming your interest in that field because you feel you can never measure up with such prowess. You fail to understand that becoming an expert requires work and consistent practice. You fail to give yourself this chance because you gave up on your success before you even got started.
Secondly, laziness and impatience; a lot of times, you are too lazy to build anything consistently. Too indolent to study that field of your choice so as to learn its navigations. You want success almost immediately, and when its not forthcoming, you lose interest and become inconsistent about continuing. You are too impatient for success. You are so uninterested in the process. You have failed to understand that creating anything worthwhile requires effort and patience.
The third factor would be overwhelming fear. You are overly afraid to start, afraid of failure, and afraid of public opinion, perceptions and validation. You always wonder what they will say, whether they will like whatever you do. You wonder if you would meet their standards and expectations. This makes you get jitters and then discontinue starting your plan.
Lastly, there is the inferiority complex, which births a lot of uncertainty and insecurities. You never feel good enough, smart enough or intelligent enough to pull anything off. You think so demeaning of yourself and would rather hide than come out to do anything. You always feel inadequate and underserving, and you believe that others contents will always be chosen over yours.
These factors definitely hinders success; therefore we must work towards conquering it at all times in life. Nobody is successful and self assured by birth; you have to work hard to reach your objectives. It’s acceptable to feel afraid, but try not to let it control you to the point where you settle for less than excellence. Don’t let the opinion of others dictate your reality. Accept the corrections and continue improving yourself. it’s about time you unleash the treasure in you.
